Morocco and Spain Collaborating to Fight Minors Migration
During the 8th High Level Moroccan – Spanish meeting back in March 2007, the Moroccan Prime Minister Driss Jettou and his counterpart José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero drafted an agreement to fight illegal migration. On August 31, 2007, the Spanish Council of Ministers signed in Madrid the concrete agreement, which will be submitted to the two houses of the Spanish parliament: The congress and the Senate.
This agreement aims to prevent illegal migration from Morocco to Spain especially for minors, guarantee them protection and facilitate their repatriation.
