Bilan de la participation marocaine dans l’athlétisme sur l’échelle mondiale

Le Maroc a obtenu un important nombre de médailles dans ses participations aux championnats du monde d’athlétisme depuis la première édition de Helsinki, Finlande, en 1983. Ce nombre s’élève à 27 médailles : 10 en or, 11 en argent, et 6 en bronze.

Le tableau final des médailles en son édition 2007 présente le Maroc en 28ème position, après avoir obtenu une médaille d’argent par la marocaine Hasna Benhassi au 800 mètres (1min 56:99), mardi dernier dans la 11ème édition, Osaka 2007.

Le Maroc a toujours marqué sa présence dans les compétitions mondiale, sauf en 1993 à Stuttgart, et a eu 5 médailles à la fois  en 1999 : 2 en or, 2 en argent et 1 en bronze.

Le Champion marocain et olympique Hicham El Guerrouj figure en tête des plus titrés avec 6 médailles en total dont 4 en or sur 1500m et 2 en argent sur 1500m et 5000m.

A Friendly Game Between Ghana and Morocco

The Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) had announced a friendly game between the national Moroccan team and Ghana on September 8, with Rouen and Creteil as possible venues, after excluding the Charlety Stadium in Paris.

This is expected to be the first game for Morocco’s new French coach Henri Michel, who called the 20 following players for the game: Tarik El Jarmouni, Nadir Lamyaghri, Michael Basser, Abdeslam Ouaddou, Talal El Karkouri, Jamal Alioui, Hicham Mahdoufi, Badr El Kadouri, Youssef Safri, Houssine Kharja, Abdelkrim Kissi, Mohammed El Yaagoubi, Yacine Abdessadki, Youssef Hadji, Mbark Boussoufa, Noureddin Boukhari, Hicham Aboucherouane, Marouane Chamakh, Soufiane Alloudi and Bouchaib El Moubarki.

Morocco became the first side to qualify for next year’s Nations Cup which will be hosted by Ghana.
